From I-80
Exit 27; Rt-206 South: Continue south
7+ miles on Rt-206 to Chester at the intersection of Rt-513 (Main St) (No Rt‑24
sign). Turn West (Right) 0.4 mi past Mill Ridge Lane to Rails Trail Parking Lot
on right just before Chester Library & Chubb Park.
From I-286
Exit 22B; Rt-206 North: Continue north 10 mi to Rt-513 (Main St) at Chester.
Turn West (Left) on Rt-513 see above.

From East
bound I-78, Exit 45: Go right onto
Glenside Ave. In ½ mi. turn left onto Watchung Reservation Tracy Dr. Continue
to the first circle and take first right onto Summit Lane. Go ½ mi. and bear
right onto New Providence Rd. to the end. The Trailside Parking is on right.
From West
bound I-78, Exit 43: Proceed right on
Diamond Hill Rd. to Traffic Light and turn right onto McMane Ave. Go on ¾ mi.
to intersection of Glenside Ave. and turn left. Continue ¾ mi. to Watchung
Reservation Tracy Dr. on right. Continue to the first circle and take first
right onto Summit Lane. Go ½ mi. and bear right onto New Providence Rd. to the
end. The Trailside Parking is on right.
From Garden
State Parkway Exit 140, Rt-22: Take
Rt-22 West about 5 mi. to New Providence Rd, (Boro of Mountainside) turn right
and continue 4 blocks to Tracy Dr. Turn right, follow Tracy Dr. to circle, then
¾ around to Summit Lane. Go ½ mi. and bear right onto New Providence Rd. to the
end. The Trailside Parking is on right.

Exit 55: Take Rt-511 (Ringwood Ave.)
North about 3 mi (2 more traffic lights after exit lights). Right turn to
Warren Hagerstrom Blvd; opposite the Wanaque Dam (Look for Wanaque Reserve sign
on right). Continue onward 0.3 mi. to entrance of ball field on the left. (See
NYNJ Trail Conf. Map #115, 2009 Edition.)
From Skyline
Dr. & Ringwood Ave: Go South on
Rt-511 about 3 mi. & two traffic lights, but you make a left @ the Dam.

Monksville Reservoir

Starting out southbound on the Horsepond Mtn. Trail up and around Monksville Reservoir with two long vistas over the reservoir. There are stream crossings and plenty of warm ups while climbing. About 9 miles.
Rain Ice or poor driving conditions cancels. Bring Ice Creepers
