Sunday July 5, 2020 D&R Canal Walk #6 — Trenton to Rt-1 Strenuous
We will shuttle to the Hamilton Station Park & Ride from the Rt-1 parking, and then take NJ transit to Trenton.
There we will go and explore Old Trenton including the Old Barracks Museum. [Recall Christmas December 1776] Have lunch then hike D&R path until we find the above ground section of the Canal and then it’s back to Rt-1 Parking. About 9 miles strenuous but flat
Shuttle required and One-way Train Trip Rain or bad weather cancels this hike.

From NJ Turnpike Exit 9: Go North on Rt-18, 1 mi to Rt-1 southbound. On Rt-1 Southbound drive 20 mi to I-295 interchange. Continue 0.8 mile to next light at Franklin Corner & Bakers Basin Rds. Make a Jug Handle U-turn from the slow lane back onto Rt-1 Northbound. Drive 0.4 mi to the D&R Parking on the right. GPS Meeting Place (40.2791, -74.7012)

Take Rt-1 North 0.3 mi to Rt-295 South. Go 1.9 mi South to Exit 65A-65BExit Ramp and Exit for Sloan West. Drive 0.2 mi to entrance Rd at Klockner Rd. (Sign Park Ride) for the RR Parking. Park in the large lot near RR Sta., Call Leader to locate group if not visible!
Sunday July 12, 2020 Cliffs of the Delaware, PA Moderately Strenuous
We will meet at Stokes State then carpool to Raymondskill Falls Parking and start the hike using Cliff Park Trail. That trail has beautiful view points of the Delaware River. Then we will circle the pond on our way back and if we’ll have time, we will see the Hackers Falls.

From I-80 West Exit 34B: Take Rt-15 north about 17 mi. to Rt-206 (Rt-15 ends). Continue straight on Rt-206 north 6+ mi. towards Culvers Gap and AT trail crossing sign. Proceed an additional ½ mi. and the Park Entrance is on the right off Rt-206. Proceed 0.1 mi to Ranger Station Parking and Restrooms! GPS Ranger Station (41.1857, -74.7957)

From Meeting Place continue north 9 mi on Rt-206 across the Delaware (Toll) into Pennsylvania to Rt-209just after tolls. Take Rt-209 south for 2.4 mi to road on right, leading to Raymondskill Falls Parking lot. (Big Sign) Turn in and drive 0.3 mi to parking.
Saturday July 18, 2020 Highland Hike & Swim at Macs Place Moderately Strenuous
IHC Members and Friends only Please. We will hike on a section of the Highlands Trail followed by a swim and picnic at the end of the hike. Bring bathing suits and a dish to share. Heavy Rain cancels this hike.

From I-80 Exit 34B (Rt-15 North): Go north on Rt-15 about 4.6 mi.; and exit onto Rt-181N toward Lake Forest / Woodport. Proceed 1.8 mi. on Rt-181N to Prospect Point Rd on left. Turn on Prospect Point Rd and go 1.2 mi to Northwood Rd (Rt-609) on right. Turn and precede 1.0 mi. turning into parking area on left. Note! Northwood Rd. becomes Lakeside Ave in Hopatcong. Sunday July 26, 2020 Elk Pen Circular Strenuous
We will start from the Elk Pen on the ASB trail and then go south to the Stahahe Brook Trail. Then the Nurian Trail to the end and then head North on the RD trail to the Lichen Trail. After lunch which ever trails that will lead us back to the Elk Pen to end the day. Possibly 10-12 miles total. Rain or Foul Weather cancels this hike.
