The Highlands Trail is but one of the many connecting
trails that will take us from secluded (no swimming) Terrace Pond in Wawayanda
Park to Echo Lake in the Watershed. Without leaves in the trees the views
should be good.
Shuttle required to

From Rt. 80, Exit 25:
Go on Rt. 206 north a short way to ramp on right to Continental Drive at
sign to Waterloo Village. Proceed on Continental Drive to red light and turn
right. Go to stop sign at Waterloo Road & continue to parking lot across
road.
Sunday March 15, 2009 Patriot’s Path–Fosterfields to Morris County Arboretum Moderate
Using newly acquired rights of way it is now possible to
use the Patriot’s Path to make a Country & City hike ending with a visit to
the Morris County Arboretum.

From I-287 South Exit
35: At the light turn right onto Rt-124W (Madison Ave.) toward Morristown
center. Proceed ¾ mi. toward Morristown Green (Rt-124 becomes South St.) Go 3/4
around the Square counterclockwise) Exit the Square right onto
Rt-510/Washington St./Rt-24 westward, continue for 1.2 mi. Turn right onto
Kahdena Rd, proceed 0.2 mi to Fosterfields parking lot on the left. (Note!
Rt-24 signs nonexistent in this area, only on maps!)

In our loop hike today we will see the Little Cemetery on
the Beech trail, the Hasenclever Mine, Lake Askoti and Lake Skannatati. Long
Path, Beech, Red Cross, ASB are some of the Trails. Rain, Snow or Foul Weather cancels this hike.

go 7.8 miles. Parking is on the left along the lower lake.
Sunday March 29, 2009 Highlands Trail – Byram to Stephens State Park Moderately Strenuous
This hike takes us through Allamuchy State Park and along
the Muscenetcong River to Stephens State Park. At Lunch we’ll enjoy the view
from the top of Allamuchy Mt. After a steep descent we can visit an old Indian
Village, as well as Old Historic Waterloo Village. About 8 not too energetic
miles. Shuttle Required
