Sunday      August 4, 2024            Cliffs of the Delaware, PA             Moderately Strenuous

We will hike using Cliff Park Trail. That trail has beautiful view points of the Delaware River. Then we will circle the pond on our way back and if we’ll have time, we will see the Hackers Falls.

Meet: 8:00 AM            First Parking Lot, Raymondskill Rd, Milford, PA 18337

From I-80 West Exit 34B: Take Rt-15 north about 17 mi. to Rt-206 (Rt-15 ends). Continue straight on Rt-206 north 16 mi on across the Delaware (Toll) into Pennsylvania to Rt-209 just after tolls. Take Rt-209 south for 2.4 mi to road on right, leading to Raymondskill Falls Parking lot. (Big Sign) Turn in and drive 0.25 mi to first parking lot. (150 ft. before the Main Parking Lot with toilets and crowds) GPS (41.2903, -74.8402)

 

Sunday      August 11, 2024          Berkshire Valley Exploration         Moderately Strenuous

8.5 mile circular hike in Berkshire Valley WMA. We will go out on loop trail towards Lake Hopatcong then return on an old railway bed.

Meet: 9:00 AM            Berkshire Valley WMA Trail Access, Gravel Parking Lot, 37 Gordon Rd, Wharton, NJ 07885

From I-80 Exit 34A: Take Rt-15 south 0.2 mi to E. Dewey Ave. Drive 2.2 mi to Birkshire Rd. (E.Dewey becomes W Dewey) Turn right and take Berkshire Valley road north 0.8 mi passing under Rt- 80 and make your third left onto Gordon Road which is just past Roxbury Fire Company 3. Follow Gordon Road and avoid Carr Lane. Pass junction with old railway track on right. Make your next right into a gravel parking lot.

Sunday      August 18, 2024           Central Park Exploration              Moderately Strenuous

This is a 8 mile exploration in Central Park following the paths and byways. We will meet in NYC. (See below)

Sunday      August 25, 2024          Black River Trail Loop                       Moderate

We will explore trails in the Cooper Mill County Park and Black River Natural Area. Stops along the way include the restored Cooper Mill, the Kay Environmental Center, and the Black River Gorge. It will be 6 1/3 miles in length with 700 feet of elevation gain.

From I-80 Exit 27 (Rt-206 South): Continue southward on Rt-206 7+ mi to the Chester area at the intersection of Rt-513 (no Rt-24 sign). Turn right (west) on Rt-513 and continue 1 ¼  mi to the Morris County Cooper Mill Parking Lot on the left. GPS (40.7788,-74.7202)
