Saturday February 5, 2022 Hamburg Mt. Wildlife Management Area Moderately Strenuous
This 6-7 mile loop on the top of
the ridge of Hamburg Mt. will take us to Vernon Peak the summit of Mountain
Creek Ski Area. (Did you bring your Skies and Ski Pass?) There is a great view
to the North from here, with the Gunks on the horizon. If Snow is on the
ground, bring Snow Shoes. The map looks flat but there is about a 900 ft. elevation
change going around!

From
I-287 Exit 52B, Rt-23 North: Take Rt-23 North 14 mi. to turnoff for Northbound
Rt-515, (Vernon/Stockholm Rd.) just before traffic light. Drive 6 mi. on Rt-515
towards Highland Lakes. At the 6-mile mark look on the left for large brown
sign that says Hamburg Mountain Wildlife Management Area. (Daniel Boone Trail)
Turn in and go 300 feet where there is parking on both sides of the wide road.

13, 2022 PA-DE Canal Hike #9—Washingtons Crossing to Bald Pate Moderately
Strenuous
This loop hike of 8.5 miles will be hilly in Bald Pate. It
also involves a water crossing using stepping stones in Fiddlers Creek. So make
sure you are comfortable with winter stream crossings. Poles are a must.

Approach the Washington crossing bridge as if you are going
to cross to PA. But make the last right in NJ. Drive 300 feet and make a right

Sunday February 27, 2022 PA-DE, Canal Hike #10—Bulls Island to Stockton Moderately Strenuous
This is a flat 8 mile hike from Bulls Island NJ south
to Stockton NJ. We will return via the PA side of the river if the canal path
is open at the time.
But whatever happens, we will cross both the footbridge at Bulls Island and the
road bridge at Stockton for the views.

From I-287 Exit 17 (Rts-206/202 south): Take Rt-202/Rt-206
south and continue on Rt-202 about 26 miles to last exit in NJ. Exit is to
Rt-29, Stockton/Lambertville. Follow signs to Rt-29 (along river), and turn
Right (north) driving for 6 miles through Stockton to the entrance of bulls Island.
Turning left drive over the canal to visitor’s center 0.1 mile ahead. GPS
