From I-287 Exit 55: Take Rt-511 (Ringwood Ave.) north 4 miles (becomes
Greenwood Tpk.) and turn left onto Westbrook Rd. Go west on Westbrook Rd. and
make a left at “Y” intersection, then ½ mi. to a left onto Snake Den Road.
Follow road to parking lot on right before New Weis Center. Do not drive into New Weis Center. GPS

Sunday May 15, 2022 Harriman—Almost Perpendicular Strenuous
We will start on the Blue Disc
and head north over Almost Perpendicular and then go to Claudius Smith’s Den.
Then it’s the R-D up to Parker Cabin Mtn. Next, we go downhill to the Triangle
trail, back past Lake Skenonto, the Dutch Doctor shelter and then the White Bar
back to the Parking Lot. About 8 miles of ups & Downs.

I-287N Interchange Exit 15A: Take R-17 north 4.5 miles, to Seven
Lakes Dr., just north of Sloatsburg, NY. Turn right onto Seven Lakes Dr. and
proceed ½ mile to Johnsontown Road on the left after underpass. Follow road
about 2 miles to the circle at the end. Early

Sunday May 22, 2022 Bearfort Ridge
Strenuous
This will be a really pretty
circular around Bearfort ridge, the itinerary will include the completely new
West Ridge Trail.
About 9 miles total.

Meet: 9:00 AM Shopping Center/Hewitt Post Office; 1938 Union Valley
Rd. (Greenwood Lk. Tpk.), Hewitt, NJ 07421
From Rt-23 north: Right exit onto Union Valley Rd. (Rt-513). Then go
northeast 7 miles to the traffic light in the center of West Milford by
Shoprite. Turn left following Union Valley Rd (Rt-513) at 1.4 mi. bear right
(Do not go up White Rd.). Continue straight on Union Valley Rd (Rt-513) ½ mi.
to intersection of Rt-511 (Greenwood Lake Tpk.). The shopping center is ½ block
on right.
From I-287 Exit 55 (Rt-511): Go north on Ringwood Ave.
(name changes to Greenwood Lake Tpk.) about 14 miles to Lakeside Rd. at south
end of Greenwood Lake. Continue straight-ahead ½ block to shopping center on

Sunday May 29, 2022 South Sterling Ridge Trail Maintenance Moderately Strenuous
Sterling Ridge needs some extra help on its southern
section. Sara has obtained parking passes so we will start from the north and
work south. We will car shuttle to the Visitor center. The hike is 2 miles to
the fire tower and then 5.5 miles of clipping to the cars. Tools will be
provided, however please bring work gloves. Shuttle Required

From I-287 Exit 55:
Take Rt-511 (Ringwood Ave.) (becomes Greenwood Lake Tpk.) north about 11 miles
to junction of Greenwood Lake Turnpike and East Shore Drive.) Parking is on the

Drive back (south) on Rt-511 2 mi to Margaret King Rd. Turning Left
drive 2¼ mi to Sloatsburg Rd. Turn left and drive 2 mi to Sterling Mine
Rd
(CR-72) at traffic light. Turn left onto Long Meadow
Rd (CR-84). Go north 3½
miles to Sterling Lake Rd (Old Forge Road) on left. Turn left and go ¼
mi
taking the next right toward the
Visitor's Center which is ¼ mi
ahead. The
Parking will be opposite the Visitor Center in the hiker parking lot on
right
side of road.
